EBE TECHNOLOGIES ENHANCED DISASTER RECOVERY SERVER
ADDS WORKFLOWS TO PROVIDE COMPLETE BACKUP
Reduced Risk, Effort and Downtime With Backup of Workflow Configurations
East Moline, IL– EBE Technologies, the leading provider of business process management solutions for the transportation and logistics industry, announces an enhancement to its Disaster Recovery Server (DRS). In addition to storing document images, workflow queues are now replicated within the DRS solution, providing an enhanced level of redundancy. Previously, DRS only included images and indexes from the archives. Now, should a server failure or a disaster require activation of the DRS solution, not only will images be available, but the items in workflow are active and ready for completion. This eliminates the need to reconstruct workflow queues in the event of DRS activation, saving a significant amount of time and effort during DRS solution activation.
With workflow replication, EBE clients will simply be required to reconfigure the IP address of production clients to that of the DRS. Users will then be able to log in to their workflow queues normally and be fully operational, with the change in servers being transparent. Concerns of interrupting billing, driver settlements and other mission critical business processes are eliminated.
Prior to this enhancement, clients that demanded the security of a redundant system were required to purchase expensive, third party solutions. These solutions were not only expensive, but they lacked the ability to provide workflow replication, providing only backup of images and indexes.
“The ability to replicate workflow queues within the DRS solution completes the enterprise framework for the SHIPS solution,” said Larry Kerr, President of EBE. “By adding workflow to DRS, carriers have a complete backup solution from a single source provider that offers reduced risk and downtime, for a third of the cost and effort required by traditional third party disaster recovery providers.”
Only SHIPS workflows are included in the enhanced DRS solution. For clients, whose SHIPS workflow applications coexist with other document management systems, the DRS solution is able to back up all images and indexes regardless of manufacturer. This eliminates the need for additional recovery solutions.
The DRS solution is included in the enhanced SHIPS Software Assurance policy. Clients’ annual fee assures complete redundancy with minimal configuration costs when the recovery process is required.
